Ÿnsect was a Paris-based AgriTech company founded in 2011 that positioned itself as the world leader in insect ingredient production, farming mealworm beetles at industrial scale to produce highly nutritious protein and fertilizer products for aquaculture, animal feed, and human nutrition — offering a dramatically more sustainable and resource-efficient alternative to conventional soy and fishmeal proteins. Having raised over $600 million — including a landmark $224 million Series C that made it the world's most funded insect biotech company — Ÿnsect built the world's largest automated insect vertical farm in Amiens, France.
